Habits

Came  home to a wide awake mum at post-siamdiu timing which is fyi fucking fucking surprising. She randomly complimented me on how everytime we boarded a bus, albeit me walking ahead I'd step aside to let her sit on the inner seat, and then upon alighting, likewise I'd step aside to let her come out first before following behind her. To me, it's an overly gentlemanly gesture unbefitting of a female but to her, it touches her to the point of being proud of my upbringing. I told her honestly, that it's more of a career habit out of my years in the f&b sector yknow, with the "customers first" mindset, and it just very conveniently carried forward into my daily life. I'm happy lah, that my gesture hasn't gone unnoticed. I mean I don't do things to be noticed but it certainly feels good to be acknowledged and appreciated.
